The only constant is change.

My life has undergone some big changes in the last few months…  Some personal, some career related, as well as some basic, fundamental “me” things.  I found myself at a very crucial juncture in my life, a sink or swim sort of moment, and I am choosing to rise to the occasion, and do some major growing.  With a new perspective, I can now look at some of these changes and events as a positive opportunity for growing and maturing.  I’m not a kid anymore, not in college, it’s time to really step it up here.

So to recap one of the major highlights, I left my job at the Paradise and moved on to a customer support/inside sales position with BMC Switzerland.  No, I did not move to Switzerland, they happen to have a Boston office, which is their US headquarters.  I’ve been here for a couple weeks now and couldn’t be happier.  I am facing more challenges day to day, have more opportunities, and is a place where I can continue to grow and learn.  There is room for advancement.  My old job, as much as I loved it, it had its place in my life, and sustained me for some time, but I felt as though I stopped progressing there.  Being stagnant in one area of my life made me stagnant in other areas of my life as well.  I got comfortable.  I stopped working hard.  But now I am working in an industry I really love, with positive people and forces around me.  I feel focused.  I feel inspired.

A lot has happened lately that has given me cause to stop and reflect on who I am and how I function as a person, and what paradigms I operate within.  I want to act with intention and focus, and chose to create my own ways through the world.

I’ve spent a lot of time deciding what to do with this blog.  I haven’t used it in a while, and a person very close to me suggested reviving it.  After giving it some thought, I’ve decided to be more proactive about telling my story.  And if someone else gets something out of hearing it, then that’s great.  If it gets someone out there on a bike, that’s great too.  And even if it doesn’t, it will still be a good exercise for me to be putting some sort of positive energy out into the world.

Apologies that my blog has been kinda dead as of late.  I have been busy packing and moving into a new apartment, and currently am without the internets at home, and can only hop on this thing at work!  However, I’m sure exciting, new posts are to come, once my life is fully functional again.  There has been lots of shopping and organizing and plotting of how to rearrange the new house.  I’m very excited about it!

In other news…

- It’s hot.

- I have a new little herb garden, thanks to my mom!

- No more bike races for a couple weeks, which I have mixed feelings about

- I am off to NY for a work gig soon, which is VERY exciting, and I will be sure to post about :)

Spring is upon us, which means my life is kicking into high gear, and I’m going to apologize for being a tumblr SLACKER.  It’s almost race season, so that has been keeping me busy with training and whatnot… my first race weekend is April 14th!  Also, work has picked up considerably.  We have shows every night from tonight through April 12th, and like 4 days off in April, and every single show this week is sold out.  So things are a zoo around here!!

But really what has me occupied is planning for The Black Falcon Crit, which starts in just a little over 1 week!!!  I have been working all winter getting sponsors and support for this race, and finally, it is almost here!

If you’re a cyclist in Boston, please check out the blog where I have been spending all my time by clicking HERE FOR THE DIRTY BIRD CRIT.
